Crafty Inspiration

To kick start your productive weeks, how about a small selection of ideas to inspire you? (and me!)
I've got something for everyone... or most everyone this morning! How about making your very own statement necklace? Or making a plant holder out of  tuna can? We can do it all!

How amazing is this necklace? I want it so bad!! And since statement necklaces can get pretty pricy... I'll be happy to spend an evening making one of these... and maybe some for friends?

Okay... this one may not be for everyone but I came across it when I was looking for cheap office decor for my cubicle makeover. I thought it was a cute way to incorporate the wooden texture of the clothespins instead of just having a flower pot. Aren't they cute? The site isn't in English, but you can see the how-to in pictures.

Are you a knitter? Or can you crochet? Well boot season may be just about over... but get a jump on next fall by whipping up some stylish boot cuffs. This handy round-up over at Ette Studios provides many options. Check it out!

Now for those of us who like to try new recipes in the kitchen but don't want to get our tablets or phones covered in the mess, you can try your hand at crafting this Pottery Barn iPad Stand Knockoff from Angie's Roost. It may be a bit over my woodworking skill level, but I'm eager to try it out one day! How about you?

What's on your plate this week? Any craft projects? Any time on the beach?
Let's chat.

Happy Tuesday :)

Get Some Air

Hello world!

I love this week's monday monday inspirational quote. Even if it hails from the tv show Gossip Girl. Sometimes a moment of clarity can come from unexpected places!!

It reads, "Sometimes you need to step outside, get some air, and remind yourself of who you are and where you want to be." - Gossip Girl.
Where do you want to be this Monday? I want my vacation to be extended... but that ain't happenin'!!
Happy Monday! :)

Living Room Moodboard - Purple, Green and Grey

Happy Friday everyone!
Here's another moodboard to get you (or me!) on the move (DIY-wise) for the weekend.

As the biggest room in our house and definitely the most used... I want to make sure that my living room is comfy cozy and still has fun style elements. You'll notice many of the large pieces come from Ikea, and I think that's juuuust fine. Ikea has definitely stepped up their style game in the past couple years and it's always great to decorate a room (or wardrobe!) with high-low pieces.

It's fun isn't it? What's not pictured is that we currently have a greenish beige couch with a chaise that I would love to keep in the room as well as a plaid couch and chair that can definitely go!
Now here's how to find all the items in my moodboard:

1. Shut the Front Door wall decal... can't find the source for this but pinned it here
2. Gramercy Torch Oil Rubbed Bronze Curtain Rod from Bed Bath and Beyond
3. Random white curtains
4. Nate Berkus for Target Green Tortoise Shell, $40
5. Ikea HEMNES Shoe Cabinet, $149.99
6. Ikea BAROMETER Floor Lamp, $69.99
7. CIL paint colours on our main floor: CIL Pillar and CIL Scroll Beige, pinned here
8. Deer 18x18 canvas in green, $99
9. Wood Mantle Clock from Indigo (no longer available!) but pinned here
10. Ikea HEMNES Gray-Brown TV bench, $175.00
11. Fatima Moroccan ottoman in green leather, $274
12. Moroccan Trellis Rug from Rugs USA, currently 50% off!
13. Sculpted Origami pillows from West Elm
14. Ikea KARLSTAD couch combination

Accent pillows on couch: Green Ikat (ChloeAndOliveDotCom, $31.50), Green Chevron (LandOfPillowsDotCom, $17.49), Peace Sign (poshtots, $40)

So... Couldn't you just move right in? I can picture myself all snuggled up on that huge couch watching a favourite movie. What do you think?

Happy Friday!! woot woot

Spring Cleaning Results

Okay, it's been a couple weeks... how did we all do with spring cleaning?

What? Too busy out enjoying the sun and great patio weather? I know... me too.

1. (re)Organize Your Linen Closet

Done! Success! I told you all about it last week here. Doesn't it look pretty? Sometimes I just open the door to look at my work... I don't even need anything from inside. Yes!

2. Clean Out Your Fridge

I got to complete this before we headed on vacation - I figured, why not clean it out while I'm tossing things that will go bad while we are away? It didn't take long and when we get back... it's going to be oh-so-nice to have a nice, clean fridge to fill.

3. Detail Your Vehicle

The last time I stopped for gas, I bit the bullet and used the gas station vacuum to vacuum out my car. Does that count? Haha.
There's still some dog hair that needs to be picked up by a lint roller, and some minor dusting... but other than that it's done? Okay... let's call this 1/3 done.

4. Bust Out Your Bike

Can I get a half point for my husband busting out his bike, putting air in its tires and biking to and from work everyday? No? Darn. My bike remains in the garage with sagging tires and aching to go for a ride. Fail.

5. (re)Organize Your Garage

Luckily, my garage ain't so bad! There's definite need for organization in a couple areas and more of a need for Amy (that's me!) to get off the couch and go finish some of those projects taking up space in the garage!

6. Start Those Projects!

Oh man, I have two coats left on my yellow dresser for the master bedroom (almost 2 years in the making - Yikes!!) and my cubicle makeover is almost complete. Lots of fun stuff coming up, guys!

So! What about you? Any successes? And fails?
Let's chat.

Happy Thursday :)
